Gluten Free Home Cooking: Tradition and Family

Gluten Free Home Cooking

Tradition and Family

by Mary McGrane

Now you can celebrate holidays and family get togethers with gluten free choices. Some of the traditional recipes featured that are gluten free include my favorite Cinnamon Pumpkin Pie and Gluten Free Stuffing.

This is the second book of a series on living a gluten free lifestyle with food that you enjoy. You don’t need to give up certain foods, because you can make it gluten free, or just choose healthy choices that include more fruits and vegetables, with recipes and combinations to add variety to a restricted diet.

The book includes my own photographs, and stories of adventure and tradition. Enjoy tales of a sweeet treat during the Depression, and a homemade root beer brew from Cypress Creek. Read about a memory of “Gram’s Cornbread” and other comfort food, and a garden with fresh produce on Lake Marion. Find out what happened to Uncle Harry’s schooner when sailing across the Atlantic in World War II and make the dish inspired by our homeland in Denmark, and read my favorite story about Day and “The Value of Onions” in the battlefields of France after DDay.

In gathering these tales and recipes, it is a way to live everyday life and still be gluten free, but also make living extraordinary in the celebration of it all.
