Monologues in Stereo

Monologues in Stereo

by Paul Kocak

Ever hear yourself think? Or hear how others think out loud? That’s what this collection is about: the ups and downs and zigzags of conversation — even when it’s within the space of your head. It’s rarely neat like the written word. We blurt, interrupt, break off, repeat, stumble, stutter, and retreat. Sometimes it’s frustrating. At other times, it’s funny, half-insane, or barely understandable. It might even get worse the longer we know someone. We like to say “we finish each other’s sentences,” but that comes with peril and risk. So, sit back and listen. See if you can relate. Then tell a friend. But be sure to speak clearly.
